Most Altera pieces arrive largely assembled, unlike flat-pack furniture from large retailers where assembly can take hours. You won't find hundreds of pieces and a confusing instruction booklet in your box. In some cases, assembly is minimal; think attaching a few frame pieces or screwing on legs. A basic screwdriver is all you'll need.
If you'd prefer to skip assembly entirely, you can upgrade to our White Glove delivery service. Our team will bring your furniture into the room of your choice, assemble everything and take all the packaging away. You'll be offered this upgrade right after you complete your purchase. The fee is based on what the service costs us, and we don't make any profit on it; it's simply there to get you set up.

Returns are free within 30 days of delivery. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, contact us within 30 days of receiving your order and we’ll send you a prepaid return label, or book a pickup for larger furniture. You’ll get a full refund in Altera store credit that never expires, so you can choose from over 1,000 pieces.
Fully custom products can’t be returned unless they arrive damaged. Our support team will be happy to clarify any details at support@alterahomedesign.com.
